The San Francisco Bay Area chapter of ISSA offers an annual Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Study Group. The CISSP Study group is a chapter-sponsored activity to support members in achieving certifications in the security industry. It is a review-style study group tracking to the 8 domains identified in the ISC2 CISSP guidelines. This 8- week series covers all the domains. This year an additional two-week course will be offered covering cloud security. This course is aimed at those interested in pursuing ISC(2)’s CCSP certification or CSA’s CCSK certification. The class is held in the First Republic building in San Francisco, which is close to public transit.
The review-style program is lead by domain coaches for each session. The domain coaches have practical experience in their domain and are required to be CISSPs. The coaches present from prepared presentation materials that cover key topic areas, definitions and concepts. Also, they lead a discussion for understanding and answering questions.
CISSP sessions will be Thursdays from 5:30pm - 8:30pm, May 26th to July 14th. Two additional weeks covering cloud security (for those interested in the CCSP or CCSK certifications) will be held on July 21st and July 28th. $50 for ISSA or affiliated (InfraGuard, etc.) members, $75 for non-members. The additional two weeks covering Cloud Security are an additional $10 for members, $20 for non-members.
